Hi there! My name is Meryl and I am a sophomore at CU Boulder. I'm a Colorado native and always have had a deep appreciation towards the outdoors and nature. You can normally find me hiking or hammocking in the Boulder area! I started drawing and painting when I was a young kid because my aunt had her own pottery shop in Belgium. I was fascinated by her craft and I really enjoyed how calming and therapeutic art is. Art was my favorite subject in school as it allowed me to express my thoughts in a creative way. All four years of high school I took art classes-- from studio art to photography. Although I did not ever take AP art, junior and senior year I took IB HL Visual Arts. Currently, my favorite subject to draw/paint just so happens to be landscapes--specifically the mountains! During quarantine, I found out that landscapes were my calling when I started following Bob Ross' tutorials! I enjoyed the freedom to make any kind of oasis I wanted to. I tend to stick to painting and drawing but I am very excited to get better at digital art! I took a year off of doing art in freshman year of college to focus on my psychology degree but I missed it so much that I added an art minor. I am incredibly eager to get back into the art world again and create!!
OH! And here is my dog Nico :)
